What Does Certified Pre-Owned Mean?

A CPO car bridges the gap between new cars and used ones. It is a used vehicle, but it goes through an extensive vetting process before it can be classified as certified pre-owned. These cars must fulfill specific requirements as well. As a reward, these vehicles come with exclusive perks you will not find with any other type of pre-owned car.

We have two different types of CPO cars, including CPO and CPO GO. Cars in both categories must be five years old or newer. A CPO car cannot carry more than 75,000 miles on the odometer while cars within the CPO GO category can range in mileage from 75,000 to 120,000 miles. Some cars in the secondary category may even be up to 10 years old in pristine condition.
Before the pre-owned car becomes certified, it must undergo a 125-point inspection. This covers most areas of the car, so you know it’s up to speed with repairs and service. If it does not pass the test or fulfill the previously mentioned requirements, it will not gain this designation.
Once the car gets stamped with the certified pre-owned seal of approval, it will be brought into the certified pre-owned fold on our lot. On top of this coveted designation, the vehicle comes with exciting and exclusive perks.
Each CPO car includes warranty coverage. A 3-year/3,000-mile Maximum Care Warranty and a 7-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty come with the car. This provides peace of mind and lets you know that you’re covered in case your car needs an unexpected repair before its time.
You’ll also receive a vehicle history report that lists the chain of ownership and any service records. This should make you feel confident as you ride around the Fenton area.
For extra assurance, you’ll receive towing and roadside assistance that includes 24-hour service, flat tire service, gas delivery, battery-jump assistance, and lockout service. Plus, you can count on a car rental allowance if your car needs to stay overnight to be fixed. These valuable services cannot be found in every used car that we provide.
